Hatzic Middle School’s First Ever Book Challenge!
September 11, 2017 – June 15, 2018
Do love to read? Do you find yourself reading the same genre all the time? If you answered yes, to either of these questions, then you need to participate in the 30 Book Challenge. This challenge will encourage you to read other genres and will introduce you to some amazing authors. Your task will be to read 30 books from September to June. If you set a goal to read 3 books per month you will complete the challenge.
If you would like to participate in Hatzic Middle School’s first ever reading challenge, please come to the Library and pick up a yellow 30 Book Challenge Card. Once you have finished a book , you are invited to join our blog posts to tell all of the participants what you have read and most importantly, what you loved about the book you just finished. All blog posts are reviewed my Ms. Johnston before they are posted, so please be respectful with your comments and your replies. Let’s get reading!

I just finished a book called Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus.. it was a great read… it is about a girl named Aven who was born without arms! The way she goes through life and her sense of humor about not having arms is very inspiring. If Aven were a real person, I would definitely want to have her as a friend.
Just finished Me and Earl And The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews can’t believe the ending it was so sad!

I read 14 books so far. The book Pegasus was the best one so far.
Wow!! you are almost half way there 🙂 You aren’t the first one to love Pegasus..,, many students have told me this is a great book. I will read it for my mythology selection.

I just finished reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. It’s about two teens(Hazel and Augustus) who each have a form of cancer and they fall in love. This book will make you laugh out loud and it will make you tear up. I’d love to meet Hazel and Gus if they were real people!
You are right about this book – I laughed out loud and also shed a few tears 🙂 I would also have liked to meet Hazel and Gus – they also felt like good friends by the time I finished the book.
I have a box full of books to read over the holidays! I can’t wait to share them all with you. I hope all of you 30 Book Challenge participants read some great books to share with the rest of us.

So recently I just saw the movie Wonder and I LOVED IT! It was almost exactly like the book, telling the story from different characters’ perspective. I teared up near the beginning! Have you guys seen Wonder? If so, what did you think of it?
I loved the movie just as much as I loved the book and that doesn’t happen very often!
